My parents are physicians and have been running a large family-owned clinic for 30 years. When I incorporated to the family business already 15 years ago, I agreed with my father that I would not just operate the business he had founded but make it my vision.
My parents are physicians and have been running a large family-owned clinic for 30 years. When I incorporated to the family business already 15 years ago, I agreed with my father that I would not just operate the business he had founded but make it my vision. Over the last 15 years, we turned a traditional clinic into the first and largest longevity clinic in Europe, with over 15,000 early boomer patients and 150,000 yearly overnight stays. We did this when nobody was talking about longevity and most of the work had to do with explaining what we meant with longevity, and how it was different from anti-ageing creams or botox.
The movement that we were anticipating 15 years ago has slowly taken over the whole world like a storm, partly thanks to divulgation scientists like Aubrey de Grey with books like Lifespan or Outlive, renowned papers that went beyond academia like Lopez Otin's hallmarks of ageing, partly to people like Bryan Johnson and David Sinclair, and the impact of podcasts and youtube like Peter Attia and Huberman, and organizations like LBF and Vitalism from Nathan, Mark Hamalainen and Adam Gries.
As longevity clinics expanded worldwide, the market began to mix medical programmes, luxury wellness stays and lighter hospitality-led experiences. That makes it important to distinguish clinical depth, physician oversight and measurable follow-up from destination marketing.
Progevita is an opportunity for me to build the golden standard of what a longevity clinic should look like for a younger patient base, cutting all the bullshit. Affordable and to the point, focused on diagnosis, data and treatments, for a limited group of customers who already know they want to take proactive care of their health. The scale of my larger clinic allows Progevita to get the economics right, with a wide range of medical expertise, cutting-edge treatments that we will be increasing as we identify more evidence, and education that truly empowers the user to know what and why they should do something to take care of their bodies.
For the last couple of months we have been rehabilitating an old village near the original clinic where we will operate the Progēvita retreats. Rooms, coworking spaces, consultation rooms for doctors, a new hot pool, cold bath, saunas, gyms… right now there are over 10 people finishing and painting the space, getting ready for our new customers. We hope to see you there soon.
